The spring of 2020 will be remembered as the year of Covid. Indeed we were amazed, stunned, and taken back at this dastardly cousin to the flu spreading rapidly among the population and, with the help of lawmakers, pulled the economy to a grinding halt while increasing the wealth gap between rich and poor.
In the beginning, mainstream media (MSM) reported active cases, recoveries and deaths. It was interesting that most of the people recovered from Covid before the vaccine was released.
That’s not to say people didn’t die, because they did. Yet this is an example where the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth did not come to pass. It isn’t simple to say MSM lied to the public. Because, it was not so much as what was said, but what wasn’t, leaving the intrepid reader/viewer to come up with their own conclusions.
Ominous numbers
In the beginning, not much was known about Covid and scientists, doctors, and lawmakers invoked several measures aimed at slowing the spread. Indeed the numbers looked scary as MSM constantly reminded the public of the number of cases, recoveries and deaths. A deeper dive into the numbers showed the average age of people dying from covid was just over 80 years old, making senior citizens the high-risk group.
As talk centred around the rapid creation of a vaccine the way MSM reported the numbers changed just a little bit. The focus changed from reporting on active cases, recoveries and deaths to active cases and deaths. Given the gullibility of the masses that little change altered the focus and the MSM-watching public uneasiness grew as they only saw rising cases and deaths.
The reporting websites continued to put up all the numbers that could be accessed by anyone. Still, the focus was rising numbers for active cases and rising numbers for deaths. Some noted that change and easily discerned the manipulation was on the way. MSM didn’t have to lie about anything, it just didn’t tell the whole story. And they know most people will not bother to look up the numbers on their own. Yet, some people did and anyone with a grade 5 knowledge of math could easily translate these numbers into percentages.
Start with the number of cases, then look at the recoveries. Consider the covid virus will wreak havoc on the immune system for a couple of weeks. So, in Canada as of June 28, there were 1.4 million cases and 1.3 million recoveries. Keep in mind the population of Canada is just under 38 million. That means about four percent of the population had contracted this contagious disease.
Yes, pointing out 1.4 million cases seems like a lot, and it is. But as opposed to 38 million, that number doesn’t seem to be so big after all. The same database showed there are just over 8600 active cases and just over 8100, about 94 percent are considered mild cases and of those numbers, there are just over 500 cases considered serious or 6 percent. On a side note, the World Health Organization said most people will recover from mild infections. Yet no one, at the point, really talked about strengthening the immune system with vitamin D by spending more time outside or taking supplements. Nope, nobody talked about that. Instead, the public was treated to shutdowns and lockdowns.
But I digress.
The number of deaths from those cases was just over 26,000 or two percent of the four percent of the Canadian population that was affected. Furthermore of those 26,000 that died from covid just under 17,000 were over 81. Just over 7600 people aged 60-79 died from Covid. Those aged from 0-59 dying from covid was just under 1200 people. Again the oldest of that age group people 50-59 suffered 930 deaths.
The exploiters aka the greedy ones
Indeed things look very scary and faster than a greyhound chasing the metal rabbit, several protocols were issued to deal with impeding the spread of the virus. But as with any rapid research and intrepid extrapolations, a series of health mandates were handed down to the public outlining common sense guidelines like washing and sanitizing your hands before touching anything. And let’s not forget initial reports the covid virus could last for hours on a doorknob.
That triggered a sudden urge for ultra-sanitization and those businesses still surviving used worlds like sanitizing and your safety. For some, maybe many, it was most reassuring to jump into a rental car knowing the place card acknowledging safety and sanitization were at the top of the list. There is nothing like security knowing the car your sitting in has been sanitized.
However, it wasn’t long after that some of the protocols used for testing came to light. Such as putting 8000 times the normal amount of covid on a doorknob. Oh, so that’s why it could last for hours on a surface.
But even when the sanitization protocols were adopted and updated, some people would hoard hand sanitizer, while others tried to profit from the misfortune of humanity. Unfortunately for them, and fortunately for the rest of us, people like Noah Colvin got stuck with hands in the cookie jar. After all, buying up hundreds of bottles of sanitizer and then trying to resell them with a huge mark-up is exploitation, let alone foolish as institutions like Amazon cracked down on these would-be shysters.
Then, there were other entrepreneurs looking to develop their own hand sanitizers to bring to market and, while that was a good idea to start with, additional research suggested removing too many bacteria was not really a good thing and some sanitizers were actually bad as they contained too much alcohol and so on.
And let’s not forget this was the largest transfer of wealth in recorded human history. The rich really got a lot richer and mom and pop stores disappeared than snowflakes in a frying pan.
Promoting the vaccine, not immune system
While those numbers look scary, the media was interviewing scientists, doctors and Bill Gates about developing a vaccine and several companies using scientists from all over the world to come up with a cure for this cousin to the flu.
As the research continued, they found that 80 percent of the covid cases were vitamin D deficient. Medical research has shown this “sunshine” vitamin plays a significant role in maintaining health, such as a stronger immune system and the ability to absorb calcium for bone strength.
This is not to say vitamin D is a cure for covid because it is not. However, it is important to note vitamin D helps boost the immune system. And that is essential in fighting off diseases like covid.
Given the growing amount of evidence supporting the strength of vitamin D and question to ask is why aren’t the medical professionals promoting stronger immune systems instead of having us wait for a vaccine that has killed more people than all the other vaccines combined.
On the bright side, we no longer have a mask mandate.
